ANZAC Day is a significant date in any Australian or New Zealander's calendar.
It marks the anniversary of the first military action fought by the ANZAC troops during the World War I, and is a very emotional and patriotic occasion.
Every 25th of April, a special service is held at dawn to commemorate the original landing of the soldiers at Gallipoli, and the war which followed Thousands of Australian, New Zealand and British citizen's, journey to ANZAC Cove specifically for this event, to pay their respects and remember those who gave their lives. Hence the saying "Lest We Forget"

Day 1 - Saturday 21st April : Welcome to Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul! You will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours free to explore at your own pace. Overnight Istanbul
Day 2 - Sunday 22nd April: Istanbul Old City
After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and after lunch we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. Tonight don't miss the optional Turkish Folklore evening. Overnight Istanbul

Day 3 - Monday 23rd April: Gallipoli Battlefields
Depart for the Gallipoli peninsula early morning and tour this now serene site. Visiting original trenches and tunnels and ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, Johnston's Jolly and The Nek before a short ferry ride across the Dardanelles. Overnight Kucukkuyu

Day 4 - Tuesday 24th April: Troy
Today we visit the archaeological ruins of Troy. We then cross the Dardanelles, once we arrive at the Gallipoli peninsula we head straight to Anzac Cove to secure a good spot on the grass for the long night ahead. Overnight ANZAC Cove

Day 5 - Wednesday 25th April: ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Awake before sun rise to the ANZAC Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as we commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. We attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services before a late afternoon drive back to Istanbul. Overnight Istanbul
Day 6 - Thursday 26th April: Istanbul
Our tour concludes after breakfast and we bid farewell to our new friends.

Today we spend the morning at the southern tip of the Gallipoli peninsula at the International Service at the Turkish memorial, Mehmetcik Abide, and then the Commonwealth service at the British memorial. We then head back across the Dardanelles and visit the archaeological ruins of Troy. Your afternoon is free to explore or rest prior to an 11 pm departure for ANZAC Cove. Overnight ANZAC Cove

Today we head south for a morning tour of the magnificent acropolis of the ancient city of Pergamum. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and next we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. This afternoon continue to absorb yourself in history with a visit to the Temple of Artemis and a guided tour of Ephesus experiencing the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and stadium. Day 7 - Friday 27th April : Pamukkale, Hierapolis
This morning we check out some local Turkish handicrafts before driving inland from the Aegean coast to visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castles) and the ruins of Hierapolis, an ancient resort city overlooking the terraces. Overnight Pamukkale

Day 8 - Saturday 28th April : Bursa, Istanbul
Today you head back to Istanbul, passing through rural Turkey and ancient Bursa to visit the Green Mosque and explore the Silk Bazaar. Overnight Istanbul

Day 7 - Friday 27th April : Ephesus, Sirince
Absorb yourself in history today with a visit to the Temple of Artemis and a guided tour of the ancient city and stadium of Ephesus. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and next we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value before an afternoon visit to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines. We finish the day with a leather goods presentation. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in the world and many are made here before branding in Italy. Overnight Kusadasi

Day 8 - Saturday 28th April : Pamukkale, Hierapolis
Today we drive inland to the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castles) where we also visit the ruined city of Hierapolis, an ancient resort town built above the calcium terraces. Overnight Pamukkale

Day 9 - Sunday 29th April : Konya, Cappadocia
We continue east along an ancient Silk Road for the lunar like landscape of Cappadocia. We take time out along the way to visit Sultanhani Caravansary and the Mevlana Whirling Dervish Museum in Konya. Overnight Cappadocia

Day 10 - Monday 30th April : Goreme, Underground city
Today we tour the Goreme open-air museum, Pasabag, Uchisar castle and one of the fascinating underground cities, home to early Christians who hid underground from Roman persecution. Photo opportunities are everywhere so have your cameras ready! Tonight, don't miss the optional Turkish folklore evening featuring folklore and belly dancers... a night you won't forget! Day 11 - Tuesday 1st May : Ankara, Istanbul
Leaving the surreal landscape of Cappadocia behind, we head for exotic Istanbul. Along the way we visit the nation's capital, Ankara and the Mausoleum of Turkey's first President, Ataturk, to learn a little about why he is so revered in this country. Overnight Istanbul
